Volunteer Mentors
Every young person has potential... As a mentor you can help unleash it!
Mentors make a difference, be one. You do not need specific skills as we provide comprehensive training for all our mentors. Our volunteers come with a wide range of skills and experiences. We are looking for flexible, adaptable and non-judgmental individuals who are able to get on well with youngsters between the ages of 11-16.
The purpose of our mentors is to act as a positive role model and help today’s youngsters make positive choices about his/her personal relationships with family, peers and teachers. Also to make them realise the importance of education and their role in the community as they are the future.
Mentors must be willing to:
- Work one-to-one with young people
- Ability to impart a non judgemental perspective and attitude
- Attend a mentor training session
- Provide four to six hours a month of their own time
- Undergo a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check
